His duty was to guard the Hessian prisoners of war in Frederick City. He also aided the cause for independence by providing wheat from his fields to the American military (DAR ancestor # A 134493).

  In the name of God Amen, I Thomas Winsor of Montgomery County and State of Maryland being weak of body but of sound mind memory and understanding do make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manner and form as follows. Item first I will and bequeath that all my just and honest debst be paid. Second I will and bequeath unto my beloved wife Catharine Winsor all my estate real and personal property whatsoever or in any wise belonging unto me during her natural life or widowhood and as I have given unto my daughter Rebeccah Lewis ten pounds, unto my son Zadock Winsor ten pounds, my son Robert Bedden Winsor ten pounds, my daughter Mary Lewis ten pounds, and unto my daughter Ann Brown fifty six pounds seventeen shilling and six pence and as it is my Will and request that all my children should share and share alike, I therefore Will and request that my beloved wife Catharene Winsor should give unto my children out of my person property she can best spare or in any other wise do unto my sons Arnold Thomas Winsor, Alexander Winsor, Henry Winsor, ten pounds each and unto my daughters Catharine Winsor, Amia Winsor and Sarah Winsor ten pounds each, and after the death or widowhood of my beloved wife Catharine Winsor, It is my Will and bequeath that my Executor herein after named shall sell and dispose of all my estate real with the then remaining personal property either at publick or private sale diso??tional with him and to make or cause to be done a good and sufficient deed to the purchaser or purchasers on payment of purchase money and any deeds or bonds of Conveyance so done by him shall be as binding to the purchaser as if my self had don it which said property when sold and payments received by my Executor and after a deduction of necessary expences are allowed him the balance shall be equally devided between all my children to wit, Rebeccah Lewis, Mary Lewis, Arnold Thomas Winsor, Alexander Winsor, Catherine Winsor, Henry Winsor, Amea Winsor, Sarah Winsor, Ann Brown, Zadock Winsor and Robert B Winsor, share and share alike, except Ane Brown out of whose share to be deducted forty seven pounds seventeen shillings and six pence, which has been given her already over and above the rest of my children already mentioned. Lastly I do will and bequeath that my son Arnold Thomas Winsor, shall be my sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament.   	There's no solid documentation that Phillip Windsor and Sarah Ward are Thomas's parents but there is some circumstantial evidence. Ship records in the National Archives show only one Thomas Winsor, transported in 1768. A book by Colgate(?) re: prisoners transported from England indicates records from the Old Bailey (Google-English Genealogy) include a Thomas Winsor convicted of pickpocketing. His punishment was transportation and 7 years servitude. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Windsor-506 Thomas Windsor married Catherine Beadon circa 1776 in Maryland. By 1777, they lived and farmed in the Upper Part of Newfoundland Hundred in Montgomery County Maryland. On 13 March 1780, Thomas purchased some 160 acres on a tract of land called the "Cow Pasture" which was located "between Montgomery County and the waters of the Seneca." Between August 1777 and July 1780 Thomas served as a Private in the American Revolutionary War in Captain Thomas Conner's 6th Company Middle Battalion Maryland Militia. His duty was to guard the Hessian prisoners of war in Frederick City. He also aided the cause for independence by providing wheat from his fields to the American military (DAR ancestor # A 134493). Thomas and Catherine had ten children : Rebecca (Levi Lewis and Archibald Browning), Nancy (Joseph Brown), Zadock (Jane Lewis), Robert Baden (Elizabeth Ann), Arnold Thomas, Mary (Jeremiah Lewis Jr.), Alexander (Rebecca Magruder), Henry (Mary Ann Simmons), Amia, and Sarah (John Clagett). It is said that Thomas believed "no man can own another man." This is borne out by the fact he never had slaves. So, despite his illiteracy, he was far more enlightened than the most academically educated men of his time. Thomas died on his farmstead near Clarksburg. Along with other family members he was buried on his property.
